Our Environment

We are proud to have an exceptional expanse of indoor and outdoor space, far more than is average for nurseries and pre-schools in Kent. We therefore attract children from a wide geographical area, including Elham, Hawkinge, Folkestone, Canterbury and many of the surrounding areas in Kent. Visitors never fail to be impressed with both our facilities and level of care provided. The generous indoor and outdoor space we have available enables us to provide a wide and ever-changing variety of toys, equipment and activities, so there is always something to appeal to each and every child in our care, come rain or shine. Our 2015 Ofsted report described our pre-school as a “calm, well-resourced and stimulating environment”.

Outdoor space

Elham Pre-School is set in an area of outstanding beauty. Our vast outdoor space backs directly onto rolling fields, with sheep and tractors being a regular feature, much to the delight of our children. We also have a dedicated ‘formal’ garden, complete with mud kitchen.

Indoor space

Our indoor space is equally as impressive, with the children’s main area measuring 17.7m x 10m – much larger than most other local nurseries and pre-schools in Hawkinge, Canterbury and Folkestone. We have modern and clean facilities which are well-maintained. Elham Pre-School also has been awarded a level 5 ‘very good’ (the highest level) food hygiene rating from Shepway District Council.

Please come and look around and talk to us about your requirements for childcare - we think you'll be impressed! Almost 100% of parents who come to view our pre-school choose us!
